Imagine your best possible self…….

If you could write your own eulogy many years in advance, what would you like it to say of the person that you were?  Who do you admire and why?  What attributes do they have that you would like?  We can bring positive emotions like gratitude into our every day and cultivate those attributes for ourselves.

In your life, you may have vision, a desired destination and goals but put your purpose first, those things that bring you joy, that you get excited about, that you think about when you are relaxed, that maybe you don’t voice….  Your life is fragile and short, don’t compromise it.

Wouldn’t it be amazing if you had a roadmap to life, where you were guaranteed fulfilment, contentment and success?  This wouldn’t grow you though, it wouldn’t stretch you and your potential wouldn’t be found.  I prefer in my uniqueness and my imperfections to find my way by firstly searching inwards.  It is so easy to be moulded by those things outside of who we are, by pain caused by others that so often then changes who we are.  But when searching in-wards we allow ourselves to reveal what drives us, what makes us smile, what we enjoy what we are passionate about.  Too often (where they were once known) these get forgotten, laid to rest, in order to be responsible, do as others do, conform, fall in line.  When this happens your purpose may not be found.

Take ownership of it and decide that you will dictate what your story will be.  Don’t allow anyone else to paint the picture of your life, it’s yours to paint.  Remember acceptance is key at every corner you turn, embrace it.  We recognise that there will be times we perform well but times we’ll also make mistakes.  Acceptance involves acknowledging the unvarnished facts of ourselves and our situation.  The good and the not so good, without judging ourselves.

And be flexible on your journey, if you are, you will find you are able to deal with unexpected challenges calmly and efficiently.  You will problem solve and find opportunity.  Being pliable on our journey allows for often unexpected growth.

As you step into 2024 don’t steam ahead without purpose, be deliberate in what you do, and allow yourself to find passion in your purpose.
